Google Analytics 4 is ondertussen realiteit geworden voor ons allemaal. Heb jij je weg al gevonden in de vernieuwde interface? In de eerste maanden van Google Analytics 4 kwamen wij erachter dat we wat oude vertrouwde data en functionaliteiten uit Universal Analytics misten of lastig konden vinden. Tijdens deze ontdekkingstocht dachten we \u201cHey, we zijn vast niet de enige die het handig vinden om te weten waar je deze data terug kan vinden\u201d. Vandaar dat we onze bevindingen in deze blog met je delen. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Hieronder vind je een korte opsomming met de verschillende Universal Analytics functionaliteiten die we misten in Google Analytics 4. Met behulp van screenshots laten we je zien waar je deze data in Google Analytics 4 kunt vinden. <\/strong><\/p>\n

    Wanneer je campagnes op LinkedIn draait waarbij je verkeer naar je website stuurt wil je natuurlijk weten wat deze bezoekers voor interactie met jouw website hebben. Je kunt deze data naar boven halen door de volgende stappen te volgen:<\/span><\/p>

    Wil je in Google Analytics 4 het verkeer terugvinden op basis van UTM\u2019s die je hebt toegevoegd aan URL\u2019s in verschillende posts \/ op verschillende kanalen? Vergelijkbaar als bij het vorige punt vind je die in hetzelfde overzicht:<\/span><\/p>

    Mocht je een keer je Google Ads verkeer verder willen analyseren in Google Analytics 4 dan kun je dat eenvoudig bekijken door de volgende stappen te volgen:<\/span><\/p>

    Welke pagina\u2019s heeft iemand bezocht voor het overgaan tot een conversie? Dat is natuurlijk ontzettend relevante informatie om inzichtelijk te krijgen zodat je een beter beeld krijgt van de reis die jouw bezoekers afleggen of om je website te optimaliseren. Om deze informatie inzichtelijk te krijgen per event volg je de volgende stappen:<\/p>

    Explore > Path Exploration > Start Over > Select ending point (Event name or page path and screen class) > Click on page path\/event name to expand more steps<\/b><\/em><\/p>

    Het is niet mogelijk om meerdere events tegelijk in \u00e9\u00e9n path exploration inzichtelijk te krijgen, dit moet je eigenlijk ook niet willen om chaos te voorkomen. Gelukkig heb je wel de mogelijkheid om binnen \u00e9\u00e9n exploration meerdere tabbladen te maken voor de verschillende events die je inzichtelijk wilt krijgen. Voor het toevoegen van een extra tabblad klik je eenvoudig op het + teken (zie geel gemarkeerd in onderstaande afbeelding)<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Vergelijkbaar met het vorige punt, maar dan juist de andere kant op kun je kijken wat voor pad mensen bewandelen op je website. Dit kan het pad vanaf een specifiek event zijn of vanaf een specifieke pagina. Je krijgt deze data inzichtelijk met de volgende stappen:<\/span><\/p>

    De kans is groot dat je bezig bent met verschillende marketing activiteiten voor jouw IT-organisatie op allerlei platformen en websites. Omdat je op verschillende plekken touchpoints cre\u00ebert met jouw bedrijf is het belangrijk om goed in kaart te brengen welke kanalen bijdragen aan conversies op jouw website. Deze informatie kun je bekijken via:<\/span><\/p>

    Heb je een zoekfunctie op je website? Zo ja, dan is het uiterst interessant om inzichtelijk te krijgen welke zoekopdrachten er op je website plaatsvinden. Goed nieuws, binnen GA4 is dit mogelijk. Je kunt deze informatie gebruiken om je website verder te optimaliseren. Om deze data inzichtelijk te krijgen volg je de volgende stappen:<\/span><\/p>

    1. Reports > Engagement > Events > Click on the Pencil<\/b><\/em><\/li>
    2. Dimensions > Remove \u2018Event Name\u2019<\/b><\/em><\/li>
    3. Add \u2018Search Term\u2019 as a dimension > Click \u2018Apply\u2019<\/b><\/em><\/li>
    4. Click \u2018Save\u2019 > \u2018Save as a new report\u2019 > Give it a name (example: Site Search Terms)<\/b><\/em><\/li>
    5. Return to \u2018Reports\u2019 > Library<\/b><\/em><\/li>
    6. Life cycle > Edit Collection<\/b><\/em><\/li>
    7. Drag \u2018Site Search Terms\u2019 to \u2018Engagement\u2019 section > Save > Save changes to the current collection<\/b><\/em><\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      Outbound clicks kunnen je veel inzicht geven over uitgaand verkeer naar andere websites. Deze informatie is helaas niet standaard te bekijken in Google Analytics 4. G<\/span>elukkig is het wel mogelijk om een custom report te maken waarin je deze data inzichtelijk maakt. In de onderstaande stappen leggen we je uit hoe je dit voor elkaar krijgt:<\/p>

      1. Admin > Custom definitions > Create Custom Dimension<\/b><\/em><\/li>
      2. Dimension name = Link_URL<\/b><\/em><\/li>
      3. Scope = Event<\/b><\/em><\/li>
      4. Event parameter = link_url<\/b><\/em><\/li><\/ol>

        Na 24-48 uur zul je de URL’s van de outbound clicks in kunnen zien via de volgende stappen:<\/p>
